A group of ladies, most of whom have never drawn or painted, meet monthly and create! What fun to see one's creative talent "bloom"!
February..using a photo reference of choice, the ladies painted a "work" full of "brush strokes" and "paint".
With the start of January 2012,the ladies study the works of Van Gogh, and paint a study of their own of this master. 11x14 acrylic/hardboard
November/December, Tis the season. The ladies using16x20 canvas board, acrylics, texture medium and an assortment of gems and jewels created their "season" work.
October, the ladies were introduced to "gouche", a watersoluable opaque paint. They started with a charcoal sketch of the set up still life, they painted their second work!
During September, a few Ladies shared an evening of "learning" to draw and paint. No prior experience with "art"...what fun they had using soft pastels for warm up, followed by creating an oil pastel on canvas. They each created their still life of pumpkins and gourds and found the beginnings of their creative "art" self.
